The McKinley Chalet Resort where we stayed at Denali
The Denali National Park
Our First Moose was really exciting
These were taken from the bus window
They were eating right beside the road
A Bull Moose having a snack beside the road
I stayed on the bus for these shots also!! I'm smarter than I look!
The park is made up of 6 Million Acres covering over 7,370 Sq Miles
A far away view of Mt McKinley
Low lying fog in the valley
Dall Sheep on the side of a mountain
A male Willow Ptarmigan, the Alaska State Bird
More sheep closer to the road
Me, hard at work and loving it!!!
Mt McKinley's summit is 20,320 feet above sea level
My Favorite girl !!
It has a vertical rise from it's base of over 18,000 feet
The locals call it Denali, which means "The High One"
Only 30% of visitors to Denali actually get to see the mountain because of weather
We were lucky to have a clear blue sky day!
A group shot of our favorite travelers, these guys were a blast to travel with
Notice how high we are on the side of the mountain
Also notice there are no guard rails!
When we pass an oncoming bus we got REAL close to the edge!
The colors were just starting to change
The river bed was very rocky and almost dry today
Our last rest stop before leaving the park
The town of Denali from our train
Heading to Fairbanks
An interstate bridge ahead that we go under along the river
I think I would rather be on the Train
