Badlands Exit off of I-90

We are about to our exit for the Badlands but the reason for this photo is the speed limit sign. Yes we had a lot of 80 mph speed limits and Yes, cars will still pass you at 80 mph!!!

Wall Drug Store is located at the Badlands Exit so we stopped in to take a break and get something to eat before heading to the Badlands National Park

Badlands National Park is in South Dakota. Its dramatic landscapes span layered rock formations, steep canyons and towering spires. Bison, bighorn sheep and prairie dogs inhabit its sprawling grasslands.

Ben Reifel Visitor Center

The Ben Reifel Visitor Center was toward the end of our tour of the Badlands. Lucky for us they had a nice restaurant on site for us to eat and take a break from the road.

Sad to leave!!

Minuteman Missile Site

Just outside of the Badlands we stopped at the Minuteman Missile National Historic Site.

The visitor center contained exhibits about the Minuteman Intercontinental Ballistic Missile System and its role in the larger context of the Cold War. The exhibits share stories of the technology that made it possible, service men and women, citizens near and far who feared the worst, the call for civil defense, and leaders at home and abroad who led the world to the brink and back.
